Santhi Corcoran

Santhi Corcoran is a Lecturer and researcher at Mary Immaculate College, University of Limerick and a Further Education tutor with Limerick and Clare, Education and Training Board, Limerick, Ireland. Her research is in the field of Sociology of Education, teacher education, intercultural competence, and diversity.  She has a professional background in Healthcare, Psychology, Community counselling Education and Social Care.  Santhi has worked extensively with Regeneration programmes, Community engagement programmes, Policy development and Service provision in Health and Social care in the UK. She was also responsible for the development of health and social care programmes for Refugees, Asylum Seeking, Migrant and Homeless communities in the UK and Ireland. Santhi has contributed to migration and integration research both in the UK and the Republic of Ireland and is the co-founder of the Midwest Migrant Community Network in Ireland. She is a member of the Anna Lindh Foundation which promotes Intercultural Citizenship Education and an Alumni of the DialoguePerspectives programme. In the programme year 2022/23, Santhi is part of our seminar team.

˝The programme makes possible something that is all too rare in our society these days: speaking and having discussions across borders, not about each other, but with each other. That can be a hard slog at times, but at the same time the format makes space for follow-up questions and deeper conversations that are only possible through trust on all sides.
