Nour al-Huda Schröter

Nour al-Huda Zaynab Schröter is studying Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University College Freiburg. Her academic focus is on Art History from a post-colonial perspective with a special interest in the place of religion in contemporary Art. Having spent parts of her studies in Malaysia and Turkey, she is engaging in questions on secularism, liberalism and Islamic traditions in a global context. Besides her studies, she has been active in various initiatives, student associations and projects on Islam and Muslim Youth in Germany. She is a scholarship holder of the Avicenna Studienwerk. Growing up in interreligious contexts, she has always been fascinated by the role of religion on the individual and society and joined DialoguePerspectives in 2018 and 2020. This year, she will be joining the programme as a religious/worldview advisor.

˝The programme makes possible something that is all too rare in our society these days: speaking and having discussions across borders, not about each other, but with each other. That can be a hard slog at times, but at the same time the format makes space for follow-up questions and deeper conversations that are only possible through trust on all sides.
