Staatsminister Michael Roth

Staatsminister Michael Roth ist Staatsminister für Europa im Auswärtigen Amt. Seit 1998 ist Staatsminister Roth direkt gewählter Bundestagsabgeordneter. Von 2010 bis 2013 war er europapolitischer Sprecher der SPD-Bundestagsfraktion und von 2009 bis Februar 2014 Generalsekretär der SPD in Hessen. Seit 2017 ist Michael Roth Mitglied des SPD-Bundesvorstands.Als Staatsminister für Europa ist Michael Roth auch Beauftragter der Bundesregierung für die deutsch-französische Zusammenarbeit. Er ist zudem Mitglied der Versammlung der Kuratoren des Instituts für Europäische Politik, Mitglied des Vorstands des Deutsch-Französischen Instituts Ludwigsburg, Vorsitzender des Aufsichtsrats des Zentrums für Internationale Friedenseinsätze (ZIF) und Mitglied des Rates der Stiftung Flucht, Vertreibung, Versöhnung (SFVV).

Minister of State Michael Roth is the Minister of State for Europe in the Federal Foreign Office (since 2013).
Michael Roth has been a directly elected member of the German Bundestag since 1998. From 2010 to 2013, he was the European Policy Speaker of the SPD parliamentary group within the Bundestag, and from 2009 to February 2014 the General Secretary of the SPD in Hesse. Michael Roth has been a member of the SPD federal party committee.
As Minister of State for Europe, Michael Roth is also the representative of the federal government responsible for Franco-German cooperation. He is also a member of the board of trustees of the Institute for European Politics, member of the board of the Franco-German Institute Ludwigsburg, chair of the advisory board of the Center for International Peace Operations (ZIF), and member of the council of the Foundation Displacement, Expulsion, Reconciliation (SFVV).
